Non-taxable benefits in Hungary
Hungarian employers can offer a SZÉP card (Széchenyi Recreation Card) — a tax-advantaged cafeteria benefit with three pockets: accommodation (up to HUF 225,000/year), hospitality/catering (up to HUF 150,000/year), and leisure (up to HUF 75,000/year). These are taxed at a flat 28% on the employer side rather than full social contributions. Other benefits include housing support (up to HUF 5 million tax-free for home purchase), commuter passes, and nursery support.
